The National Tests Centre from 2009 carries out:

ROPS UNI EN ISO 3471:2008
(Roll Over Protective Structure)

It is a destructive test. A nearly static load is applied to the structure until a determined force or energy is reached, avoiding structural breakdown and interference between the structure and the deflection limiting volume (DLV).
The National Tests Centre carries out  FOPS-ROPS tests for different kind of machinery by using flexible equipments.

Tests and relevant regulations

• ISO 3471:2008 - Roll-over protective structures (ROPS);
• ISO 3449:2009 - Falling-object protective structures (FOPS);
• ISO 12117:1997 - Tip-over protective structures (TOPS) for compact excavators;
• ISO 12117-2:2008 - Roll-over protective structures (ROPS) for excavators of over 6 t;
• ISO 10262:2008 - Hydraulic excavators-Laboratory tests and performance requirements for operator protective guards;
• Other regulations

Results recording
During the test, data requested by the regulation (forces, displacements,..) are recorded in real time to immediately evaluate the distortion energy reached. After the test it will be released a test report. Tests can be attended by a Notified Body.

Preliminary design/verification
If requested by the customer we can verify/design the protective structure. By using Finite Element Analysis software (Ansys) we can simulate the exact behavior of the structure during the tests.
